The ERTF conference at Anglia Ruskin University on 18 April 2015, was all about up-cycling - recycling to make something new.
After a members' challenge our speaker, Lisa Tilley gave an interesting talk about her up-cycled bags and other items. Everything had a vintage/retro feel that was also very modern.
Lisa creates unique items using stitch, decoupage, crochet, and most importantly combining old and new. Her work has appeared at a variety of venues including as part of Paul Smith stores at the Milan and Paris fashion weeks in 2010.

Reminders and Diary Dates
We have a large group of the Membership who were due to renew as of 1st June - if you have not yet done so, could you please look to doing this. If you've lost your Renewal Form, there is a copy on the website - if you need help then just ask Beverley website1@ertf.org.uk
Get those forward diary planners out - have you looked on the righthand side of the blog - because its updated with dates as soon as are known, so you have as much time as possible to think about attending events.
~You've already been advised of the Exhibition in 2014
~ and the next November Conference on 17th November, at the Anglia Ruskin University Chelmsford, Essex.
Further ahead:
~The next AGM and Conference will be held at Girton College, Cambridge, once again, on 20th April 2013.
~ the November Conference will be on 16th November 2013 at the Golf and Conference Centre, Cambridge.
Why two events in Cambridge? The AGM and Conference is organised by the Committee, with the decision made not to move this around the Region. However, the November Conferences are organised by each Area, with the next falling to Cambridge, but as you will see, a different venue has been arranged.
Of course there is sitll planning to be done, arrangements, bookings to be made - more information will be passed on as soon as is possible. But we do all hope that having the dates as soon as possible is a positive for Members.
