There will be time to network during the day in coffee/lunch breaks and  taking part in an activity or workshop will give you :-

A chance to get to know other members in the group.

Find out who works in a similar discipline to yourself.

Realise how diverse the group is.

A chance to talk about exhibiting – especially if you are not confident with doing this.

The best thing is that we all have an enjoyable and fun time together making new friends.

Our speaker will be, Wendy Elizabeth.

Wendy is a ‘Knotologist’ and a member of the International Guild of Knot Tyers  who has a flair for the unusual and a natural ability for tying knots into imaginative and original designs without the use of patterns.  Taking inspiration from the natural, ancient and modern worlds she makes macrame and Chinese knot jewellery, clothes, accessories, furnishings, sculptures and masks.

Up-Cycling with Lisa Tilley

The ERTF conference at Anglia Ruskin University on 18 April 2015, was all about up-cycling - recycling to make something new.

After a members' challenge our speaker, Lisa Tilley gave an interesting talk about her up-cycled bags and other items.  Everything had a vintage/retro feel that was also very modern.

Lisa creates unique items using stitch, decoupage, crochet, and most importantly combining old and new.  Her work has appeared at a variety of venues including as part of Paul Smith stores at the Milan and Paris fashion weeks in 2010.
