Today, eight Cambridgeshire ERTF members and friends had a fabulous day out in the beautiful village of Hemingford Grey.
We visited
The Manor, an amazing house dating back to the early 12th century , home to the children's author Lucy Boston and the setting for Lucy's Green Knowe books. The house is now lived in by her daughter-in-law Diana.
We spent time in the gardens, the more diligent among us sketching the beautiful trees and flowers, the rest of us just chatting. There were particularly stunning displays of irises all over the garden.
After a picnic lunch we were given an entertaining tour of the house by Diana where we got to see the amazing collection of patchworks made by Lucy during the winter evenings.
The day felt like a real treat and thanks must go to Jacky Glyde for organising it. The next Cambs region outing is to see an exhibition by
